The life of a roach is not to be envied. 'Roachy' as he will be referred to from now on, has a hectic lifestyle.

Now, NIMBIN as you may or may not know, is famous for the growing of Marijuana, Pot, Weed, Ganja, a local organic natural Herb. The local street cleaning business (Jungle Patrol) makes it necessary for roachy to go underground of a night to avoid being swept up or possibly burnt.

During the day he has to avoid many locals and tourists, who come to Nimbin from all over the world, in case he is picked up and sucked to death.

One place Roachy is semi safe is the local Hemp Bar, where he can hide in the ashtrays with his friends and socialise. However he always has to be on his guard for scavengers. Roachy has lost many of his friends and family to similar fates, and has had to become very resourceful, as you will see in his many adventures. The Nimbin Plantem is one of Roachy's friends, however he is not to be provoked in case he shakes Roachy for any seed he may be storing.

Roachy's worst trait is he has to pass the local hotel on his way home. You see Roachy has a drinking problem and is sometimes a little the worst for wear in the evening when he has to go underground. Then as if all that is not enough, he has to contend with the Sniffer Dogs the local law enforcement stroll around Nimbin with add to his suffering.

Just imagine how it feels to be less than an inch tall with a great hairy nose sniffing and drooling over you. At times like these Roachy is scared he will drown in the drool, or be sucked up the big dog's nose.

Now one thing I have neglected to tell readers thus far is Roachy's diligent mind, of course when he is not too inebriated, and like cats he must have nine lives for any ordinary roach might not survive as long as our Roachy has. Roachy was born in 1999 at 4:20pm, coincidentally at the time the Nimbin Hemp Bar opened, and of course everyone knows 4:20 is the time Dave Cannabis lights up a joint on web cam, making a statement to the world on Cannabis Law Reform.

Big Bong's Ashtray

Now our Roachy is a Medicinal Marijuana activist, but was not ready to die for the cause so he made a lucky escape. After he'd been handed around to one after the other activists, with an inch and a little left of him having been sucked by the best, was handed to Big Bong (who still to this day saves all his Roaches) and Roachy was left in an ashtray out of sight. It was about now someone passed a Nimbin Organic Coffee across the bar spilling a drop or two into the ashtray and landing right on Roachy's tail, snuffing his end out so he didn't burn away to ashes.

Thoroughly exhausted, Roachy knew if he was to survive he had to first regain his strength and secondly find a safe haven to live. A lot of people in NIMBIN have the same aim as Roachy did on that day, and come from all over the world to do exactly that find a safe haven to live and regain strength from life's difficulties. However that's another story in itself.

Getting back to situation Roachy found himself in. Roachy must have been breathing in THC from the bar, because he started to have these wonderful thoughts, you could say like an out of body experience, and out of the side of his ashtray could see some ants stealing sugar from the bowls on the bar, going down the side of the bar and through a rather large crack in the floor.
